AlHuda Centre of Islamic Banking and Economics (AlHuda CIBE) has officially announced the Global Ethical Islamic Finance Excellence Awards 2026, a prestigious international initiative established to recognize outstanding achievements, innovation, leadership, and excellence across the global Islamic finance industry. The inaugural awards ceremony will be held on 22nd August 2026 at The Islamic Cultural Centre, London, United Kingdom, alongside the 2nd London Forum on Islamic Banking and Finance 2026. The awards aim to celebrate institutions and professionals whose contributions are advancing Islamic banking, Takaful, Sukuk, Islamic capital markets, Islamic FinTech, Shariah advisory, and ethical financial services worldwide.
The global Islamic finance industry has surpassed US$5 trillion in assets and continues to expand across both Muslim and non-Muslim markets. Increasing demand for ethical finance, sustainable investment, digital transformation, and financial inclusion has accelerated the industry’s growth and global relevance. In this evolving landscape, recognizing institutions and individuals that demonstrate innovation, sound governance, customer excellence, and sustainable business practices has become increasingly important. The Global Ethical Islamic Finance Excellence Awards have been introduced to encourage healthy competition, promote global best practices, and inspire continuous excellence throughout the Islamic financial services industry.
The awards are open to organizations and professionals from around the world, including Islamic and conventional banks offering Islamic financial services, central banks, regulators, Takaful operators, investment institutions, Islamic FinTech companies, Shariah advisory firms, universities, research organizations, development finance institutions, and professional bodies. Award categories cover every major segment of the industry, including institutional excellence, leadership, Islamic banking, Takaful, capital markets, Islamic FinTech, professional services, and research, making the awards one of the most comprehensive recognition platforms in the global Islamic finance sector.
Mr. Muhammad Zubair Mughal, Chief Executive Officer of AlHuda CIBE, stated, "The Islamic finance industry continues to play a vital role in promoting ethical finance, financial inclusion, and sustainable economic development across the world. Through the Global Ethical Islamic Finance Excellence Awards, we aim to recognize visionary institutions and professionals whose innovation, leadership, and commitment are shaping the future of the industry. These awards will not only celebrate success but also establish new benchmarks of excellence and encourage greater collaboration across international Islamic financial markets."
He further added, "London provides an ideal platform for launching these prestigious awards. As one of the world’s leading financial centres and Europe’s foremost hub for Islamic finance, it brings together global regulators, policymakers, investors, scholars, and industry leaders. We invite institutions and professionals worldwide to submit their nominations and become part of this landmark initiative that recognizes excellence while strengthening the global Islamic finance ecosystem."
All nominations will be evaluated independently by the Awards Committee against transparent criteria, including innovation, financial performance, customer experience, Shariah governance, digital transformation, sustainability, financial inclusion, market impact, and corporate governance. Winners will receive international recognition before a distinguished audience of regulators, central bankers, CEOs, investors, Shariah scholars, and policymakers attending the awards ceremony in London. The deadline for nominations is 10 August 2026, while the selected nominees will be announced on 15 August 2026. Organizations and professionals interested in participating are encouraged to submit their nominations through AlHuda CIBE’s official website https://www.alhudacibe.com/uk2026/award.php.
