Em Sherif Monte-Carlo: A Must-Visit For Middle Eastern Flavors On The French Riviera

For those craving vibrant Middle Eastern flavors while on the French Riviera, Em Sherif Monte-Carlo offers a taste of Lebanon in the heart of Monaco. Reopening its doors after its traditional seasonal closure, the restaurant returns for its fifth season at the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo with fresh additions to the menu, continuing to celebrate Lebanese gastronomy year after year.

Founded by Mireille Hayek in 2011, the Em Sherif group continues to expand around the world, showcasing Lebanese cuisine across Beirut, London, and Doha. Since arriving in Monaco in 2022, Em Sherif Monte-Carlo has been led by Executive Chef Yasmina Hayek, Mireille’s daughter and a graduate of the Institut Paul Bocuse, who continues the family story though the restaurant’s evolving menu. This season’s highlights include The Lobster, marinated blue lobster tail skewers served with a fennel condiment, Le Lahmeh Black Angus, marinated Black Angus beef skewers with zaatar chimichurri, and Shawarma Lahmeh, confit lamb shank paired with artichokes and coriander.

The menu continues to celebrate an extensive selection of hot and cold mezze. Among them are Hummus made with chickpea purée, tahini, lemon, extra virgin olive oil, and Muttabalof charred eggplant, tahini, lemon, pomegranate, and extra virgin olive oil. Other favourites include Batata Harrawith spiced potatoes and coriander, and grilled Halloumis erved with roasted tomatoes.

For dessert, the famous Baklawa Em Sherif returns, a crispy baklawa with a pistachio medley, alongside Meghli, a spiced rice flour pudding topped with nuts, and Coconut Riz bi Halib, coconut rice pudding with puffed rice nougatine, mango and passion fruit, finished with cardamom sorbet.

Signature cocktails are available in both alcoholic and non-alcoholic versions, including the Beirut Mule with rum, arak, and citrus, the Oasis on the rock with gin, green tea, ginger, and verbena, and the Rose Royale with Champagne, Saint-Germain, lime, and rose. Guests can dine on the beautiful terrace facing the Mediterranean, against a backdrop of live music or DJ sets (from Friday to Sunday and every evening in July and August), while enjoying the Chicha Lounge Bar and its many flavours. For football fans, certain matches of the FIFA World Cup 2026 will be screened in the lounge area. The restaurant is now accessible via the new entrance located on Avenue de Monte-Carlo.
