The duo who recently won the coveted Golden Buzzer on Ukraine’s Got Talent have been performing in Dubai since they met on a dating app in 2017. James Harrington (38, United Kingdom) and Marina Liani (31, Ukraine) both arrived in Dubai over a decade ago and got married during the height of the pandemic.

The broadcast featured a demonstration of “Mind reading from a distance”. Marina stood outside of the theatre with the show’s host, Terry Crews. As a warm up she identified Sophia Vergara’s phone battery percentage in spite of being nowhere near the device. Mind2Mind then invited audience members to think of positive personal memories and Marina was able to correctly identify the positive memory that Heidi Clum was thinking of.

Landing 4 yesses and a standing ovation was a fitting end for this incredible display of mental dexterity.

James states that the couple make no claims to having any psychic abilities, instead, claiming that it’s purely

emotional connection that enables such feats, this claim was highlighted during their performance on Britain’s Got Talent in 2019 where they taught Simon Cowell how to read Amanda Holden’s mind. Following this

performance Simon Cowell said “It was mind-blowing, from start to finish, amazing”.

Marina Liani arrived in Dubai 9 years ago and worked as a member of Fly Dubai’s cabin crew until leaving to pursue this dramatic career change. James Harrington arrived 14 years ago, first being invited to perform at the Kempinski Hotel for a month in 2008 but ended up staying. James said, “I fell in love with Dubai from the first day and I knew it would be the place I’d call home long-term”.

According to the husband and wife team, the next step is to open the first Dubai-based mentalism theatre show. Currently performing exclusively for corporate events, this transition to theatre would be the chance to finally enable the Dubai locals and tourists to enjoy the Mind2Mind show which was recently named “Speciality Act of the Year” by the Prestige Awards.
