Microsoft will bring the region’s IT community to attend its flagship conference, Microsoft Ignite The Tour Dubai, to expand on their skillsets and better drive their digital transformation ambitions.

The ultimate tech conference is an integral part of Microsoft’s commitment to lifelong learning, offering technology and non-technology professionals the opportunity to skill, upskill and reskill, so they can remain relevant in the global digital economy. Over two days, attendees from across the region will get the chance to hear from over 350 industry experts on the very latest cloud technologies and developer tools in more than 100 deep-dive sessions and workshops.

“We are excited once again to bring the region’s technology community together, to empower them in some exciting and unique areas – so they can innovate, and solve some of the toughest industry challenges,” said Sayed Hashish, General Manager, Microsoft UAE. “We think there are some vital takeaways from this year’s Ignite tour, and look forward to continue engaging them by instilling a culture of ‘always learning’, for them keep pace with the technological evolution and achieve more.”

At this year’s Ignite, some of the hot topics on the agenda include the battle against cyberbullying, AI as a force for good, and accessibility in the technology industry.

Paula Januszkiewicz, CEO, Cqure will use engaging stories and demos to highlight how individuals can be safeguarded by cyberbullying, telling delegates how to recognise and avoid a range of unwelcome activities, including blackmailing, phishing and data breaches.

Carmen Noarbe, EMEA Lead ERG Disability, Microsoft, and Ricardo Wagner, Accessibility Lead, Microsoft Canada, will cover “Accessibility and Digital Inclusion”, showing how AI can hear, see and reason with startling accuracy, opening the door to real-time speech-to-text transcription, computer vision capabilities, and predictive-text functionalities that can prove invaluable to people with disabilities. Fauzia Awan, Principal Premier Field Engineer – Mission, Critical, Microsoft and Jad Salloum, Principal Solution Engineer, Microsoft Services will deliver the talk, “AI to Improve Life Quality of Dementia Patients, Caregivers and Families”, which will include a demonstration of solutions aimed at alleviating the suffering of the 50 million people around the world who live with dementia.

“Humans of IT: Personal Growth and Technical Skilling” is a panel discussion between Microsoft experts, customers, partners and government officials that will explore the importance of lifelong learning in the new global digital economy. The panellists will talk about their personal experiences and the path they took to acquire their current technology skillsets.
