Young Author Academy is delighted to announce the launch of \u2018Disappear\u2019, a novel by Mai Elsayed, a clinical hypnotherapist and the first young Arab author to compose a novel that discusses the dimensions of psychology in the form of a capturing narrative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The young-adult novel is based on a true story where the author narrates the life events of Rose, who was ghosted by the love of her life. The readers get to live inside the main character\u2019s mind who was going through the different stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While bereavement due to the death of a loved one is widely discussed, grieving due to being ghosted is ignored and rarely explored. Ironically, technology and social media have been marketed as tools that aid globalization and mitigate distances. Disappear, on the other hand, unravels how these very tools can destroy relationships beyond repair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTopics like grief and how it could lead to depression and suicidal thoughts often go unnoticed and undiscussed. With the rise of technology, it is very easy to ghost people, especially in a long-distance relationship. I hope that \u2018Disappear\u2019 will help the victims of being ghosted realise that they are not alone and that there is hope to heal. It is my mission to eliminate mental health stigma and empower those who are struggling to face their demons by making them feel accepted, heard and most importantly understood,\u201d said Mai Elsayed, Clinical Hypnotherapist and Author of Disappear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
