Season 10 has been extended by an additional six episodes, to be aired early 2021, and the series \u2013 which remains the #1 series on US basic cable for the 11th<\/sup> consecutive year – will conclude with an expanded two-yeareleventh season, that will span 24 episodes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe Walking Dead\u201d premiered on Halloween night in 2010 as the #1 US cable series launch of all time, later surpassed by other AMC series \u201cFear the Walking Dead,\u201d \u201cBetter Call Saul\u201d and \u201cInto the Badlands,\u201d and is the most-watched series in cable history. It was also the first US cable series to become the #1 show in all of television, including broadcast, a rank it held for five consecutive years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As \u201cThe Walking Dead\u201d universe continues to expand, the original series will be followed by a greenlit spin-off focused on the popular Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) characters, which will premiere in 2023.
