British artist and philanthropist Sacha Jafri has officially set the\u00a0Guinness World Records<\/strong>\u2122 title for \u2018The Largest Art Canvas<\/strong>\u2018 in the world, with his painting\u00a0\u2018The Journey of Humanity\u2019<\/strong>.\u00a0Scaling over 17,000 square feet (17,176.6 square feet),\u00a0Guinness World Records\u2122<\/strong>\u00a0confirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sacha, one of the most celebrated artists of our time, has been able to reach more than 2.5 billion people worldwide through this single piece of art which took seven months, 20 hours a day, to complete. He used 1,065 paint brushes and a whopping 6,300 litres of paint to create the extraordinary painting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sacha Jafri<\/strong>\u2018s record-breaking painting, \u2018The Journey of Humanity\u2019, now described as \u2018The Modern-Day Sistine Chapel\u2019, is part of his charitable initiative \u2018Humanity Inspired\u2019, supported by over 100 A-list celebrities, was launched under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Cabinet Member, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence in partnership with Dubai Cares, part of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives and Atlantis, The Palm. Considered the largest worldwide social, artistic and philanthropic initiative in history, the painting was created in\u00a0Atlantis, The Palm\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0ballroom, which was converted into the artist\u2019s studio, where Sacha spent a period of 28 weeks from March to September 2020 during the lockdown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sacha Jafri comments on his world record and his brave initiative,<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cIt was an honour to receive the\u00a0<\/em>Guinness World Records\u2122<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0title for my project\u00a0<\/em>\u2018The Journey of Humanity\u2019<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0<\/em>This is just the beginning of the\u00a0\u2018Humanity Inspired\u2019<\/strong>\u00a0journey. \u2018Humanity Inspired\u2019 and \u2018The Journey of Humanity\u2019 is much more than a painting, it is my initiative for true societal change through the hearts, minds & souls of the children of the world \u2013 a springboard for a better future for all Humanity.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIf one person can spend 20 hours a day (on four hours sleep) for seven months continuously, creating a painting of over 17,000 square feet on his own, imagine what 7.5 billion people could do together if we stopped the nonsense of discrimination, judgement and agenda. Since moving from the Atlantis Ballroom, this monumental painting \u2018The Journey of Humanity\u2019 has been broken down into numbered, signed, catalogued, and framed canvases. 70 individually framed pieces of \u2018The Journey of Humanity\u2019 will be sold across four auctions in 2021 with the funds being raised for charitable initiatives in the sectors of education, digital connectivity, healthcare, and sanitation; in partnership with\u00a0Dubai Cares, UNICEF, UNESCO, Global Gift Foundation<\/strong>, as well as the\u00a0Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence and the Ministry of Education in the UAE<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Royal Unveiling<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the 25th Febuary this masterpiece returns to the place of its creation, the enormous 2100 metres squared Atlantis ballroom. This will be the first time that the canvas is \u2018reunited\u2019 as each framed piece will be assembled, recreating the original painting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With special performances by some of the world\u2019s greatest talents, including, Singer, songwriter, actress and activist,\u00a0Leona Lewis<\/strong>, X Factor judge, whose smash\u00a0hit \u201cBleeding Love\u201d spent 7 weeks at No.1 in\u00a030 countries, the event will certainly be a celebration of hope, culture and inspiration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
