Emirates Literature Foundation Releases Booker Prize Special With Avni Doshion The Boundless Book Club Podcast

The Emirates Literature Foundation’s new podcast, the Boundless Book Club, has today released a special episode featuring Avni Doshi, one of the authors shortlisted for the Booker Prize for Fiction. Beating literary heavyweights like Hilary Mantel and Ann Tyler to the shortlist, Avni’s debut novel about a fraught mother-daughter relationship in the shadow of dementia set in contemporary India has taken the world by storm.

In the latest Boundless Book Club podcast episode, Avni shares her mother’s reaction to the novel, her reason for not telling her husband straight away about being shortlisted for the most prestigious literary award in the English-speaking world, and some wise words for other aspiring authors about her long journey to publication.

The Boundless Book Club podcast releases a new episode every two weeks, with recommendations from the Emirates Literature Foundation and guests around a central theme, which could be anything from literary controversies to poetry, and from classics and love to the Middle East region’s finest.
