1957 Ferrari 625/250 Testarossa Wins “Best Of Show” At 2026 The Quail By The Peninsula, A Motorsports Gathering

The Quail by The Peninsula, A Motorsports Gathering returned to The Quail Golf Club for its 23rd annual celebration of automotive excellence, where a 1957 Ferrari 625/250 Testarossa was named “Best of Show.” Owned by Bruce Meyer, the winning vehicle was selected from a curated field of more than 200 entries and stood out for its exceptional design, craftsmanship and historical significance. The Ferrari was inducted into the prestigious Rolex Circle of Champions, a revered tradition celebrating the pinnacle of automotive achievement, and its owner received a specially engraved Oyster Perpetual Datejust 36 presented by Luca Bernasconi, president and CEO of Rolex USA.

The 1957 Ferrari 625/250 Testarossa was originally commissioned by famed Southern California Ferrari distributor and racer John von Neumann. The Scaglietti-bodied competition car recorded 11 victories during the 1957 season before receiving a 3.0-liter Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa V12 which contributed to a string of wins as a privateer racer. Its combination of exceptional racing provenance, rarity and unique configuration represents the passion, innovation and artistry celebrated throughout The Quail by The Peninsula.

Continuing its tradition as a premier destination for automotive innovation and culture, The Quail by The Peninsula featured an extraordinary collection of vehicles, manufacturers, designers and collectors from around the world. This year’s event showcased 22 debuts from OEMs and specialty manufacturers from around the world.

Exceptional vehicles from this year’s five featured classes also took center stage throughout the event. Celebrating the history, innovation and cultural impact of the automobile, the 2026 featured classes included the 100th Anniversary of Route 66, Lamborghini Diablo, The Legacy of Japanese GTs, Ferrari F40 and The Bruce Meyer Collection.

The 100th Anniversary of Route 66 honored one of America’s most iconic roads and its lasting influence on automotive culture. The Lamborghini Diablo class celebrated one of the marque’s most recognizable supercars with 30 examples of the model on display, while The Legacy of Japanese GTs highlighted the craftsmanship and performance heritage of Japan’s legendary grand touring vehicles. The Ferrari F40 class celebrated one of Ferrari’s most revered modern supercar and The Bruce Meyer Collection showcased the passion and vision of one of the automotive world’s most influential car enthusiasts.

Throughout the day, guests experienced the unique atmosphere that has made The Quail by The Peninsula one of the most anticipated events of Monterey Car Week. The celebration of the 100th Anniversary of Route 66 brought together enthusiasts to honor the history, adventure and spirit of the legendary highway. A memorable moment unfolded as the center of the show field was celebrated with a synchronized roar of engines from vehicles in the Legacy of the Japanese GT Class, Ferrari F40, Lamborghini Diablo and Custom Coachwork, creating an unforgettable display of automotive passion across the show field.

The annual Fireside Chats featured conversations hosted by RJ De Vera and Maurice Merrick, who shared insights, stories and perspectives drawn from their experiences in the automotive community. Guests also enjoyed exclusive access to industry leaders, collectors and enthusiasts throughout the day’s garden party atmosphere.

The 2026 event also marked the first year of Broad Arrow Auctions serving as the official auction partner of The Quail by The Peninsula, A Motorsports Gathering. Bringing its expertise and passion for exceptional collector vehicles to the event, Broad Arrow Auctions introduced a new chapter in the long-standing tradition of celebrating automotive excellence.

Beyond the vehicles on display, guests enjoyed a world-class culinary experience led by Peninsula Chef David Bizet, featuring specialties inspired by the distinctive cuisines of The Peninsula Chicago and The Peninsula Beverly Hills, which celebrated their 25th and 35th anniversaries, respectively. Complemented by a curated selection of wines and champagne, the exceptional hospitality, engaging conversations and unforgettable automotive experiences once again brought together the finest elements of Monterey Car Week at The Quail by The Peninsula.
