Virgin Limited Edition, Sir Richard Branson’s collection of award-winning hotels and retreats, is thrilled to unveil an exclusive new experience connecting its two Kenyan safari properties, Mahali Mzuriand Finch Hattons. With direct flights between the camps launching in June, this offering comes at an exciting time, celebrating Finch Hattons joining the Virgin Limited Edition collection in 2024 and coinciding with the re-opening of Mahali Mzuri following its extensive refurbishment.

Available exclusively during the high season, guests will be able to travel between the two safari camps via Safari Link or Fly ALS, in just over an hour, seamlessly combining both destinations in one unforgettable journey. From witnessing the Great Migration at Mahali Mzuri in the morning, to watching red elephants roam beneath Mount Kilimanjaro at Finch Hattons by the afternoon, this experience offers the very best of Kenya’s wildlife, landscapes and more. In addition, guests who stay a minimum of four nights at either property will enjoy a complimentary further night at their chosen camp.

Mahali Mzuri is a luxury safari camp with 12 tents, set within the breathtaking 13,500-hectare Olare Motorogi Conservancy at the heart of the Maasai Mara ecosystem, renowned for Big Five sightings. Situated directly along the path of the Great Wildebeest Migration, it provides unrivalled wildlife encounters with daily sightings of lions, elephants, and buffalo, led by experienced guides, and often right on the camp’s doorstep.

Having joined the Virgin Limited Edition collection in 2024, Finch Hattons is a luxury camp with 17 tents, nestled within 35 hectares of pristine wilderness in Tsavo West National Park. It offers uninterrupted views of Mount Kilimanjaro and boasts over 30 years of world-class safari expertise. Home to East Africa’s largest population of red elephants and more than 500 bird species, it is also renowned for some of Kenya’s most striking geological wonders, including the 50 km-long Shetani Lava Flow and the Ol Doinyo Ololarami Volcano.

Although both properties are renowned safari lodges, there is much to be discovered beyond the game vehicle. Guests can immerse themselves in local culture by visiting Kamba and Maasai communities to learn about their rich traditions or taking a trip to the Mahali Mzuri funded primary school, which has benefited from generous guest donations. Beyond wildlife encounters, both camps provide unique activities such as Maasai warrior training, spear-throwing, and wilderness survival sessions. At Finch Hattons, guests can embark on scenic hikes through the Chyulu Hills or explore the nearby rhino sanctuary. Meanwhile, at Mahali Mzuri, guests can explore the local market in Aitong, embark on guided walking safaris through the open bush, or take to the skies on a hot air balloon safari for an unforgettable view of the Maasai Mara.

Relaxation is an equally essential part of the safari experience. At Finch Hattons, the Chyulu Spa, the largest bush spa in East Africa, offers a serene retreat with a treetop pool perfect for unwinding. Yoga sessions are held on the open-air deck, offering views of the Chyulu Hills. At Mahali Mzuri, the spa treatment rooms, and 12-metre outdoor heated infinity pool provide a peaceful space to relax, with the chance to watch wildlife from the water, all while surrounded by the tranquillity of the bush.

Before reopening in June 2025, Mahali Mzuri will undergo a full interior refurbishment, enhancing its 12 luxury tents, dining tent, bar, lounge, and pool overlooking the Great Migration route. Guests will enjoy a stunning transformation that blends contemporary African design with the valley’s natural beauty. Each tent will feature curated local art, intricate Maasai beadwork, an ensuite bathroom, a private deck, and breathtaking views.
