Hotel du Palais, the symbolic jewel of Biarritz overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the former imperial residence of Napoleon III and Empress Eugenie is now fully renovated and ready to welcome guests starting from 3rd June.
Founded in 1854, the hotel is ideally located at the heart of the Basque Country, less than 25 km from the Spain border, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in the legendary city of Biarritz. The renovation works that have been completed reflect the charms of the legendary palace including the lobby and restaurants in a way that lets in more daylight and make everything brighter. The rooms have also been refurbished showcasing the unique architecture and history of the palace.
Hotel du Palais includes 86 Rooms and 56 suites with timeless 19th century décor. Each room and suite offer unique views of the city of Biarritz or panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean. In unique and spectacular settings, the hotel offers its guests elegant and sophisticated culinary experiences inspired by iconic Basque Country products from the ocean and traditional farms.
It is the home of the recently awarded Michelin star La Rotonde Restaurant that has been divided into two distinct areas, one is dedicated to fine dining and creative cuisine and the other to more traditional menu choices for the whole family. The chef of the fine dining restaurant, LA TABLE D’AURELIEN LARGEAU demonstrates his amazing talent creating a sober yet elegant cuisine featuring fresh products from the land and sea. It also includes CÔTÉ MAISON featuring local cuisine and the specialities of the Basque Country.
Nestled alongside the hotel gardens, Le Sunset provides spectacular views of the ocean and the Basque coast and includes outdoor space offering a relaxed setting to enjoy poolside dining service throughout the day. Napoleon III Bar provides a soft and warm atmosphere inviting guests to explore a menu of carefully selected beverages and to mingle and socialize in an elegant and playful atmosphere.
