The Global Aerospace Summit 2022 is set to get underway in Abu Dhabi, held under the theme of ‘Digital Driven Resurgence’. Top industry experts from across the globe will discuss the key challenges facing the aviation, aerospace, space and defence sectors and push the conversation forward for the industry’s resilient and sustainable growth with a particular focus on boosting industrialisation.
The high-level forum, hosted by Mubadala, is set to take place at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi from 24 -26 May 2022. The Summit will offer an exceptional three-day agenda of panel discussions, speeches, presentations and workshops on the wider industry with a focus on demonstrating the role of digital innovation and technology in advancing the growth of the industries.
While highlighting the need for greater sustainability, talent development and international collaboration across the aerospace sector, the Summit will also have dedicated sessions to discuss the enhancement of the sectors’ industrialisation in areas such as manufacturing, R&D, adoption of advanced technologies under the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR).
The UAE recently announced Operation 300bn, an ambitious strategy to develop the country’s industrial sector and enhance its role in stimulating the national economy, which aims to raise the industrial sector’s contribution to the GDP from AED 133 billion to AED 300 billion by 2031.
Aligned with national goals and international commitments relating to advancing sustainable economic growth and industrial innovation, the plan envisions growth of new businesses and job creation in sectors such as manufacturing, infrastructure and technology, along with encouraging the development and adoption of 4IR applications and advanced technologies to generate significant economic returns and boost competitiveness.
