Rory McIlroy, a four-time Major winner and one of golf’s all-time greats, recently enjoyed a meeting with HE Aref Al Awani, General Secretary, Abu Dhabi Sports Council.
The two men spoke at length and looked ahead to the upcoming Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, which takes place at Yas Links from November 7-10 and forms part of the inaugural DP World Tour Play-Offs.
McIlroy finished as runner-up in the BMW PGA Championship 2024, the last Rolex Series event before the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, narrowly losing out to American Billy Horschel in a tense play-off.
