"The world is struggling to keep pace with the unprecedented and catastrophic challenges posed by the pandemic," says Thomson Reuters Foundation CEO Antonio Zappulla. "But how do we counter the inequalities that prevent us from protecting the most vulnerable in society; how do we protect the free-flow of independent and accurate information and those that strive to uphold it; how do we address the dangers and risks to our privacy and fundamental human rights, driven by our increased reliance on technology?
"Reflecting the work of the Thomson Reuters Foundation, this is a unique forum for a unique moment in time, where we might re-imagine a post-pandemic world, with a renewed focus on equality and sustainability."
Trust Conference mirrors the work of the Thomson Reuters Foundation, which harnesses the combined power of its journalism and legal expertise, and its position as a global convener, working towards strengthening the ecosystem for more inclusive economies, protecting free media globally and supporting the drive to advance human rights around the world.
