Wolters Kluwer, Health today announced a partnership with MEDITECH SA that will combine the leading drug screening solution Medi-Span Clinical with MEDITECH Expanse electronic health record (EHR) to offer a fully integrated solution to healthcare providers.
The move will enable both companies to deliver on a shared global mission to provide higher quality care, with greater efficiency to more people at a lower cost by providing best-in class technologies to healthcare providers in developing and emerging countries.
Medi-Span Clinical is used by hospitals and healthcare systems in 30 countries to screen patient data against drug information within the EHR, alerting clinicians of patient safety risks from allergies, drug interactions, and potentially inappropriate dosing.
MEDITECH software is used by a quarter of all U.S. hospitals, nearly half of all Canadian hospitals, and healthcare organizations in 23 countries. MEDITECH Expanse is the first fully web-based EHR designed to boost clinical and organizational efficiency while enhancing physician, nurse, and patient satisfaction.
