EDIFICE 93rd Plenary: "Increased business value through B2B Supply Chain Collaboration" - Opportunities for Collaboration and Experience Sharing
Geneva, Switzerland - May 5, 2005 (PRN):
EDIFICE, the European B2B forum for the high tech industry, will hold its 93rd Plenary Meeting on 15-16 June 2005 in Amsterdam. The Plenary is hosted by Cisco Systems and covers the topic "Increased business value through B2B Supply Chain Collaboration".
Message from Jose van Dijk, EMEA Director of Customer Services, Cisco Systems Inc.
"Cisco is pleased to host the 93rd Plenary of the EDIFICE here in Amsterdam. Our commitment to e-commerce is a long-running and much-publicised component of our go-to-market strategy. As a result, Cisco saves hundreds of millions of dollars per year on both the commerce and supply side of our business. Our B2B portfolio not only leverages these cost savings for Cisco by improving productivity and quality still further, but offers the same benefits to our Partners. This reflects a very practical commitment to enhancing customer satisfaction and loyalty, as well as strengthening our overall eco-system.
EDIFICE offers Cisco the opportunity to expose its best practices, and to share opportunities further to develop the value proposition of B2B. We believe that any effort which brings together those organisations at the forefront of supply chain integration can contribute to our business goals, to increase shareholder value and support our position as a leader in e-commerce.
I therefore welcome all participants, and look forward to a stimulating and productive meeting."
Presentations from different supply chain partners will cover among other topics:
• B2B strategy and impact on Supply Chain
• Use of B2B in Supply Chain Management
• Transport & Customs eBusiness implementations
With an experience of almost two decades, the EDIFICE focus on classic EDI Standards of the 1980s and 1990s has nowadays shifted towards XML technology and in particular RosettaNet Standards. This is also reflected in the agendas of the EDIFICE Plenary meetings and the roadmaps of the working groups. The combined expertise of EDIFICE and RosettaNet makes it possible for member companies to not only develop implementation guides and other valuable support documentation, but to actively influence emerging Standards.
Interested companies are very much welcome to visit EDIFICE Plenary meetings as observers or become an EDIFICE member if they want to actively contribute and share knowledge in the area of e-Business Standards setting and implementation.
"EDIFICE leverages B2B adoption and implementation throughout all industries. The standards already exist; with EDIFICE you learn how to utilize and implement them," says Matthias Gehrken, EDIFICE Chairman and System-to-System Solution Manager at Nokia.
